High above the valley, in the Brunegg settlement
Grächen sits at around 1,600 metres above the Matter Valley – a sunny high plateau with a clear view of the Valais four-thousanders. The chalet stands in the front row of the quiet Brunegg holiday settlement.
Winter
Direct access to the ski lifts – car-free to the piste. Grächen is one of the most family-friendly ski regions in the Alps: wide nursery slopes, magic carpets, plus snowshoe tours and a toboggan run.
Summer
Hiking trails start right at the door – over 100 km of marked paths, the Europaweg high-level route towards Zermatt, bike trails and the Hannigalp by gondola.
Day trip to Zermatt
Easily reached via St. Niklaus and Täsch – it’s only a short ride from Täsch station. A rewarding day trip to the car-free Matterhorn village.

How to find the chalet
By car to the two private parking spaces on the cantonal road, then about 140 m / 5 minutes uphill on foot – via a fairly steep staircase. By public transport: Visp – St. Niklaus – Niedergrächen. Allow some time with heavy luggage or small children.
From the Parkplatz «z’Pfänderll» it’s a short, 5-minute walk uphill. You also receive the route as an image and a video before arrival.

Our lovingly renovated home: modern comfort and classic Swiss mountain character, in a one-of-a-kind panoramic setting high above the valley.
We renovated the chalet from top to bottom over several months – a long-held family wish. After 99 days of work it shines anew over two floors: wood-aluminium panoramic windows, a country kitchen with new appliances, modernised bathrooms, new oak parquet and a sauna for four.
Several bedrooms, the bathroom and the sauna are on the ground floor; another bedroom is upstairs. A staircase leads up to the open living and dining area with a wood fireplace, a nostalgic bar and a large dining table. From there you step onto the 10-metre balcony – with a panoramic view of the Weisshorn group.
